Treatment & Trauma-Informed Care

Built upon a foundation of safe and caring relationships, our holistic treatment approach helps vulnerable young women identify their core needs and develop skills to overcome past trauma.

Following a thorough assessment, our staff work with the youth and family to develop a treatment plan tailored to each young woman’s individual needs. Treatment services include evidence-based curricula that help the youth understand her feelings, emotions and strengths. Through targeted interventions and compassionate, personal care, our youth develop positive self-esteem as they forge fulfilling and meaningful lives for themselves.

Education Services

Monarch Academy partners with the local school district, students and families to provide students with individualized education services that meet the unique needs of each youth in our care.

The year-round school provides rigorous instruction by highly-qualified staff in an empowering environment that promotes and celebrates female strength and achievement.

Vocational opportunities are also available at Monarch Academy, including the culinary program with Chef King.

Extracurricular Opportunities

Extracurricular activities are an essential component of Monarch Academy’s program. Studies have found that participation in athletics and other extracurricular activities have a positive impact on a young person’s cognitive development, and overall mental health. Monarch Academy youth have the opportunity to participate in intramurals, community outreach programs and special sport and youth clubs. These activities help students develop leadership, teamwork and communication skills that can be applied to other areas of their lives.

Currently at Monarch Academy we have the following clubs:

  • Cheer Club — University of Nevada-Reno cheer squad will be assisting our squad with tutorials
  • Basketball Club
  • Student Council
  • Music Club

In addition, we have student lead committees to support the milieu environment:

  • Compliance
  • Homecoming Director
  • Special Events Coordinator
  • Cheer Captain
  • Basketball Captain

Family Engagement

Monarch Academy strongly encourages family involvement, recognizing that positive communication with home creates the foundation upon which our young women grow and thrive.

Families are invited to engage with their daughters and the program by partaking in treatment planning, family conferences, on-campus events, athletic competitions as well as individual and family therapy.

Integrated Care Model

At the core of Rite of Passage’s program is the Integrated Care Model—a framework that outlines our agency’s approach to working with youth. This framework allows us to operate quality programs that offer youth services calibrated to their individual needs.
